About us

About us

The Premier’s Physical Activity Council (PPAC) was established in June 2001 to provide a coordinated approach to the promotion and provision of opportunities for physical activity in Tasmania. PPAC membership represents a broad range of community and government interests.

In 2010, PPAC led the development of Tasmania’s plan for physical activity 2011-2021, which sets a unifying direction and framework for action to address physical inactivity in our state. In partnership with key stakeholders and the broader Tasmanian community, PPAC will play a lead role in implementing this plan and working towards achieving the vision that ‘all Tasmanians experience and enjoy the many benefits of regular physical activity’.

In this section you will find a message from Tasmania’s Premier, further information on our vision, our role, our structure, our key messages, our activities, our branding, frequently asked questions and our contact details.
