Get Walking Tasmania month has concluded for October 2009.  Thank you to event organisers and participants for your involvement and support of this major Tasmanian health initiative. Get Walking Tasmania 2009 saw a record number of Tasmanian organisations coordinate events to encourage the community to make walking a part of their day.

Get Walking Tasmania Week is a state-wide initiative of the Premier’s Physical Activity Council and is being coordinated by the Heart Foundation with support from Sport and Recreation Tasmania, the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and the Arts, the Departments of Education and Health and Human Services, ACHPER, the Healthy House Project, and Health West.
