Premier's Physical Activity Council - LOCAL GOVERNMENT FORUM Are you a general manager, elected member, community development, recreation, planning or policy officer, or any other local government member who has an interest in the health and wellbeing of your community? THIS IS FOR YOU! The Premier's Physical Activity Council (PPAC) Local Government Sub-Committee is facilitating a FREE information forum specifically tailored for local government. WHAT: Information Forum WHEN: Friday 26 June 2009 10.00 am - 3.00 pm WHERE: Nugget Sellers Pavilion Dorset Recreation Centre George St, SCOTTSDALE WHY: To showcase a variety of health and wellbeing initatives relevant for local government. The forum will be an action-packed day showcasing a variety of health and wellbeing initatives to encourage and support local government representatives to find out how to be more involved with physical activity in their community, from a variety of perspectives including policy, planning, infrastructure and programs. Key note speakers for the forum include: - Ms Lucy Marshall (University of Tasmania) - Active Launceston program

- Mr Jonathan Bedloe (Department of Health and Human Services) - Men's health
- Ms Dorothy McCartney (Department of Health and Human Services) - Incorporating evaluation in local government programs
- Mr Craig Martin (Sport and Recreation Tasmania) - Third party insurance for organisations, using Education Department's sporting facilities
- Ms Emily Parker (Premier's Physical Activity Council) - Fast facts on Find thirty physical activity campaign and Active Tasmania Awards
- Ms Susie Bower (Dorset Council) and Mr David Pyke (Meander Valley Council) presenting local case studies.
