  • The Sport and Recreation Tasmania website www.development.tas.gov.au/sportrec provides contact information for a wide range of sport and recreation organisations. It also has books for sport, recreation and physical activity opportunities for older adults in the North and North-West.
  • Department of Health and Human Services www.dhhs.tas.gov.au/healthyliving/exercise provides fact sheets to help people get active. This website is particularly useful for specific population groups such as women, diabetics, or older people.
  • The Heart Foundation www.heartfoundation.org.au has information on the Heartmoves Exercise Program, walking and other physical activity information.
  • The Get Active Program (for Women) is designed to encourage and motivate women in our community to become or to continue to be physically active. Sessions include motivation, stress management, personal safety, goal setting and all include a physical activity component chosen by the group such as walking, sailing, horse riding and caving.
