  • Healthy by Design guidelines (PDF) – this resource provides a guide to planning and designing environments for active living in Tasmania. It includes design considerations and case studies to support those who have a role in the planning, design and development of the built environment used for walking, cycling and other similar activities.
  • Heart Foundation’s Neighbourhood Walkability Checklist (PDF) – this checklist is designed to help individuals and groups to survey their local walking environment.
  • Recreation Planning Manual – This resource has been developed by Communities, Sport and Recreation in partnership with Dr Ken Marriott to inform and guide the recreation planning process. It generally targets officers within local government who are responsible for the development and management of community sport and recreation. The resource will also be helpful to anyone wishing to engage in recreation planning.
  • Tasmanian Mountain Bike Plan - The Tasmanian Mountain Bike Plan provides a framework for the coordinated development, management and marketing of mountain bike opportunities in Tasmania.  It will guide the development of new opportunities and management of existing opportunities for mountain biking in the state and ensure that Tasmania continues to be a great place to live.
