How often do I need to get moving?

Communities, Sport and Recreation promotes Australia's Physical Activity and Sedentary Behaviour Guidelines as the required amount, type and frequency of physical activity required for good health.

The guidelines have been developed by the Australian Government Department of Health, with recommendations for infants and toddlers, children, young people, adults and older adults.

It is vital that parents and carers of children and young people, teachers, policy makers and health and other professionals are aware of the recommendations, especially those for children and young people, so as to promote them and increase physical activity opportunities within their respective settings.
